Apprenticeships combine practical experience with theoretical knowledge, helping your staff learn all the skills of the job and gain nationally recognised qualifications.
At NCA, our wide range of Apprenticeship programmes are a combination of assessment in the workplace and centre-based learning. What’s more, Apprenticeships are designed with employers like you in mind, ensuring that the course meets your specific business skills needs.

How do I get started on an Apprenticeship with NCA?
-
Choosing your Apprenticeship
Your employer will often recruit you with a particular role in mind. Therefore your Apprenticeship programme will be related to your job. For instance if you are working as a trainee Electrician, your Apprenticeship will be in Electro Technical. For a full list of our Apprenticeships, click here.
-
Technical certificate
Your Technical Certificate is a major component of your Apprenticeship and requires you to attend college, often on a day-release basis. Further information about the Technical Certificate will be available when you enrol for the Apprenticeship.
-
NVQ
The NVQ is based on professional competency and is assessed in the workplace. You will be matched with an Employer Development Officer who will visit you at work and help you undertake the modules of your NVQ. They will also be your main contact between the college and your employer if you have any problems or concerns in the workplace.

Key skills
Key Skills training helps you brush up on your English and Maths skills to ensure that you are confident in your abilities. Your Employment Development Officer will be able to talk to you more about Key Skills and how it works as part of your Apprenticeship.
